A series by cultural collective Fugitive Images reveals the distance between politicians making decisions, and the lives they impact
Transcripts of a parliamentary debate on London’s social housing were distributed by cultural collective Fugitive Images among residents of a condemned estate, inviting the recipients to redact any words that failed to convey their own opinions. In the resulting artwork Am I Here (2014), the ratio of marker pen to text exposes politicians’ inability to empathise with and represent the people whose lives they impact.
